Yeah, I've seen that Borlai guy on YouTube. Technical very, very OK but no groove at all. Just playing notes, and as fast as possible. That's the difference what is so appealing of Benny Greb for a lot of guys. Groove, groover, groovest.

 No way Hihat, you must be thinking of Thomas Lang or something? Gergo Borlai no groove? This guy out he can do it all and he does it with style and flair, one of the most exciting players I have heard in a long time! Check this for example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QD31J44DIKE and there's so much more if you search, great player!
Cliff, you're right the Zildjian Cons aren't the best comparison but I tried quite a few rides on the day and that was a name that came to mind, mainly because they are so expensive, but yes am really enjoying it, it has quite a small bell but the 'roar' is very nice! It always amazes me how adding just one new element to a set of drums changes the whole character.

Sure does! Neat introducing a different sound and seeing what changes around it. ;)

Isn't that the truth! Some sounds mask, some sounds reveal, some sounds completely change the mood...

Given the extreme range of tones, it's remarkable that we can be happy with just a few, but I am working to shave my working cymbal setup to a minimum.
