Does a kick with this on it fit in a case for that diameter drum or do you have to go one size up?

Don't know, Tim. I have a couple of 22 cases that took the Designer 22 without trouble... but I purchased them to hold Phonics and Signature basses. The track mount doesn't seem to add much the effective diameter of a bass... by which I mean that once the legs and mounts have been encompassed, the track ought, also.

What kind of cases are you looking at?

I use enduros pretty faithfully, and I was hoping I wasn't to have to get a new one to be able to fit the kick with the goofy mount in it. I was also debating getting rid of the mount and just stand mounting the toms. It's pretty funny looking, that mount.

I have become used to that mount, but it wasn't immediate and the thing is still too long. I'm considering hacking the top six inches off and replacing the cap, though don't know if that's feasible.

I set my 18 up with mount, and thought it looked so silly I took it down and flew the toms from a discrete 600. Then I realized I had just condemned myself to carrying three stands rather than two.

I've not tried to case the bass with the vertical rod still attached. Don't think there'd be enough room for that without a special sizing.

I can't remember how that worked.
I think Cliff uses the track and cases.

Tim,

I am looking to see if I can find the actual Enduro part number, but I can tell you that I ultimately ordered a H&B padded and lined Enduro for my 18x16 kicks that is smaller than what was recommended, based on my previous experience with the 20x16 case.

It fits snugly and properly with the track plate mounted.

Exactly, can I use my existing padded enduro which is a 20x16 for one with a track mount installed.
Cliff let me know if thats what you ended up being able to do.
Thanks

Tim,

What Enduro calls a 20x16 (padded) will be more than adequate for a Designer 20x16 kick, with tom mount rack included.
