I don't know if it will help with (i) the intermittent slowness issues, and/or, (ii) the incessant spam, but the board software was upgraded today, and there are purportedly elements of the upgrade that address both issues.

Yup. I swapped out a Designer / Zildjian photo for a Signature / Diril photo.
