Some kits just seem to keep turning up... or over. Is this not the same Florida job that was for sale almost forever?

Considering we all know what that kit went for the last two times it was sold.....that price is absolutely ridiculous.
That kind of apparent disingenuity (and I stress apparent) really bugs me. I have a hard time paying a guy hundreds of dollars more than he just paid for a kit. What he paid for it, maybe a little more? Sure. But that kind of a spike is pretty galling to me.

In some part of myself I can echo the moral outrage, but the question then becomes, if you buy something under its value in order to sell it for what (you think) its value is, are you a crook or a businessman?

Or, put it another way; if you buy for less than (you think) a thing is worth, should you have refused to pay a penny less than your evaluation?

Assuming that making a profit is not bad, at what profit point would you draw the line? Personally, I'd draw the line where the buyer meets the seller, since the buyer has every right not to buy.

The only moral stipulations I'd place on the buyer/seller relationship are; 1) where the seller owns all the product and that product is needed in the normal expectation of existence, or 2) where the seller has asked the buyer for an estimation of worth by virtue of the buyer's being an expert in the field. Then, the trust of that relationship is abused if the buyer does not reveal his expertise.

I'd say businessman. I wouldn't say I'm morally outraged, maybe "derisively amused" would be a more apt characterization .My approach is that, in most of my dealings with Sonorphiles,(luckily) they have been equal parts camaraderie and business transaction. For example, I can think of a certain gentleman who passed a Designer tom arm my way, at his cost, simply because I needed one to complete my set-up. . My commentaries on kits, prices, etc. often stem from these types of experiences.
I'm not decrying capitalism or an endeavor undertaken,solely, with a profit motive in mind. I think my original post may have appeared that way. I approach Sonor dealings in an admittedly peculiar way, and don't expect that my paradigm or ethos are shared by many.
I would be hesitant to place moral stipulations in a situation like this. But I will definitely say that Caveat emptor definitely applies here.

Yes, I saw it. Along with the switched hoops from an earlier Signature kit...or maybe from a Phonics kit he bought, who knows. The 8 and 10 ostensibly went to Australia, but whether they were mine is questionable. I noticed the 14 being sold a while back. I'm sure he has a logic, but I don't know what it is. If he is trying to assemble a kit of identical veneers, then good luck to him. Unless he is switching the badges too, he won' t end up with anything that will fool anyone.

Goes to show what happens when 'ya got an angle.'

And if a knowledgeable buyer appears, it'll take some fast footwork to explain the serial number and chrome hoop combo. Aligning the screw heads on the badge was my doing.

My thoughts, exactly!
I've found that the more honest I am about my intentions and aims, the more I seem to be rewarded for it. I like to call it "empirical proof that sometimes trying to be decent pays off."

And, for what its worth, I love, love, your old Sig kick...I've often toyed with the idea of begging you to send me that pics you posted when you had it for sale. That kit was a stunner!!
