Awesome Goki! Falling in love with these drums. I just saw pics of the Topaz kit that he sold last week. Gorgeous.

My first foray into Premier was a Topaz Signia kit - I think I bought it in 1992. Gorgeous finish... I had it for years.

One of the nice things about those iso mounts is that you can adjust how tightly they grab the tube lugs with the drum key, so they can be a little loose feeling (more like a RIMS mount), or you can crank them down and the toms are really locked in but still isolated.

Kelly - the last thing my gear collecting addiction needed was to start looking at Signias again with lust!

PS - this was my custom color Signia Marquis kit (dark blue lacquer)... I never saw another one like it. Premier used to do one-off stuff for Guitar Centers and other big dealers sometimes.

Well ha....you did it to me. Can of worms opened.
He has a blue Signia kit, says it's his favorite finish.

Okay...new kit arrived yesterday. Some quick points and thoughts.

I remember now "HOW MUCH" I hate moving boxes and unpacking drums. I hope to never do it again.
And it was the ultimate kick in the face; "put drum in box, pour peanuts in".
So by the time your done pulling peanut brittle out of every nook and cranny of the drum, you don't really want them.

In putting all the mounts back on, yes that he took off to ship , I have discovered the most fascinating brilliant mounts I've ever come across. A picture will show what they do. Works and works really really well. And it is the same mounts that hold the bass drum legs on.

I'm still inspecting...one thing that caught my eye is how really nice the inside of the drums look.
I know I know sounds crazy but it's really attractive. Where you notice when you remove a head.

These shells seem to be significantly more undersized than Sonor shells.
One thing puzzles me is how you can go through all the great engineering of these things and then put the worst bass drum claws I have ever seen on a drum kit in my life. No lie. They look like they belong on a kids 79 dollar drum kit.
And the chips in the hoops prove it.
I have new hoops coming and have discovered that an SQ2 T rod fits , meaning I am looking for insulated claws.

Still need to see if there is a way to retract the foot spikes. I don't use them, they are dangerous and tear up carpet, wood, cement floors you name it.

I'll keep adding as I go along.
I have not laid a stick to them yet, they came with coated ambs but they are shot. Hoping to get some time in tonight.
