...What are they like then Cliff? You in love?

Hey Ron,

The thing I am enjoying most is having a second kit nearly identical to my old friends, the bubinga Designers, being able to leave those set-up in the studio, and now having walnut roots Designers to play out as well.

Before this, I was either using some portion of the Signature 8/12/14/16/18 set-up, or having to tear down the studio Designer kit for jazz gigs.

Yup, I am loving them.
;)

Great pictures, nice setting, nice legs. Only ambiguous note is the electric keyboard. I guess nobody keeps a piano in a bar anymore.

That is just terrific. Thanks for the pics Cliff.
Your setup looks fantastic.
How do you think it went? Is this going to be a steady gig?

Hey Kelly,

This gig was as a stand-in in the singer's band, but I have had a couple of rehearsals with the bass player and the pianist for RCT as well, and hope to do more with them in the near future.

The pianist and I were stand-ins for the regulars in this band. I think it went well. There were no false starts, wrecks, crash landings or injuries, and everyone had a good time.

Disappointing indeed that the main room in a country club does not have a house piano. :(

Yes but...taking great pics in a home setting and having them look equally as good on a stage is quite a compliment.
He didn't even take these lol.

True enough. But I think the usual stage shots, taken at a mid-summer beer-fest where everyone's wearing shorts and flip-flops, or in half realized demonic dungeons with tacky skulls and faux-blood finishes, require a lot of work on the part of the photographer to make them look good. A mature setting such as this one, the standing lamp imbuing the scene with warmth, has a real leg up on aesthetics before the photographer even gets involved.

Though gloss finishes (which really are finishes, let's reclaim that word) are not my first choice, it seems to me that here Cliff's kit mirrors nicely the finish on the bass, and a lovely black glossy piano would complete the picture. On a side note, black pianos are the reason I like the notion of a gloss black kit.

The photos are Torchy!

Oh, almost forgot: Welcome to the board, Daryl.

Don't know why I like seeing the four-piece so much. And no mics?
