Me wants  . I'd love a matching 12 for her.
I Sold the SClass Maple as soon as it landed  , and I'm hoping to follow in your steps, Kel ;) .

Always loved this finish, and I made a killing on the SClass Maple.
How high should I go?

Cheers

I saw that. Birch?? ha he's clueless.
You need to ask to verify vertical grain on every drum and depth of the kick.
I would like to have the one on Ebay US right now but that guy is on crack with his price.

I got your PM's. I would have bid and a lot higher than that price but he wouldn't wait 6 days for payment so I let it go.
Thanks just the same my friend.

S Class Maple was horizontal :? . I remember reading that the shells were 'perhaps' not made in Germany.
They sounded fine, but weren't quite what I was hoping for. And I guy came in looking for a Maple Power Tom 6pce with 3 racks. He preferred a 13, but the 14 sat really well. So, they're gone ;) .

I'm hoping the vertical 'Grained Maple' veneer indicates shes the goods. I think most people assume the veneer in Skandi  , maybe thats why he says Birch.

Yeah I try to say the SClass series didn't get exciting until the Pro's came along. Some like those early kits so I never want to be offensive. Not sure how anyone can try SClass Pros and still like those first and second gen kits. But...therein is probably the answer.
I would verify the kick being 17.5. Makes a huge difference for me over the 16's. And it's confusing how Sonor did it, there is no real line to determine what is what.
How are you going to get along with a 13 up front? The 10's and 8's are terrific drums.
I'm not absolutely sure but I'll check on it, that the German made drums have the bottom of the iso mount (T) screwed to the drum. The china made just have the rubber sitting on the drum surface.

First two pics have the same through the shell 3rd mounting point.
The third and forth have the 3rd point just sitting on the drum.

I don't think it really determines what is German vs Chinese, but you can see the two different mounting points. I have found I prefer the first option. Tightens the drum up a little bit physically and that translates to the sound of the drum. SClass Pro's are not short on resonance.
Looking at the pics of the one you posted, looks to be the first option. Hard to tell though.

If I get the one in Australia, I might try to put in an offer on this, or at least the 12.

Saw that one too. He never responded when I asked if he would ship to the US. They are actually 17.5 kicks and terrific sounding. Though I would prefer 22's on these.
You would certaintly have my encouragement. They are still my favorite Sonor series ever. Unique drums that sound like no other.
Very versatile in my opinion. If one knows heads and is fairly good at tuning, they can favor where you steer them, will do anything.

Messaged the guy. He said the lower point of the T-Bar rests against the shell  , but, says inner ply is vertical, kick is 17.5 :D .
Don't know :| , not sure :? . I really want a 12, and that could add considerably to the final $ she comes to.
Spose I just want a Bargain   ;)

Cheers Kel, I really appreciate your help :D .

Yup it does. I enlarged his pic.
26 bids...my lord.

Follow the easy SClass Pro rules and you'll be happy. I've had 4 Pro kits and not all are created equal.
The 16 kicks pale in comparison to their 17.5 counter parts.
Horizontal grained kits DO NOT sound the same/as good as their vertical brethren. It's noticeable.
I prefer that 3rd mounting point be attached. If I found the right kit though unattached, I would just do it myself.

I now wish I would have kept the Aqua Green kit. That kit had everything right. I was in 2 bands with that one and both bands were blown away by them. I unloaded Lites and Delites at the time, favoring those.
And I smiled when I played them :D
