"I'd love an 18 floor. Would feel compelled to shell out were it African, but I agree it looks Italian."

I'm with you Gregory. I would love to have the 18", but I am loathe to pay that price for "Fauxbinga". Yes I thought the rest of my set was the real deal when I bought it and added on to it but...fool me once, twice, but not thrice. The bad photo may be hiding a multitude of sins as well. ;)

Be aware, the 14 tom was converted. It is non original now and might not be able to return to original.
The kick is not a Designer kick. He had it made. Looks to be high gloss to me.

Well, unfortunately, those are deal-breakers for me...

Thanks for the head's up though, Kelly! So anyone who's looking for orphan toms, they're up for grabs!

There are times like that, when we are being tested. Do you pull the trigger now and later wish you hadn't, or do you keep your powder dry and wait for something better? The right thing will come along. How's that for a bromide? :D :D :D

Hey, Kel. Did he happen to have a 20" kick in African? :?

And when the right thing comes along for him, it will be the right time for me to buy his Designers

The 18x18 didn't sell on the bay for $750. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Sonor-Designer-Maple-Light-Bubinga-18-x-18-floor-tom-/150645630002?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23132de432#ht_500wt_1413

I was in contact with the guy but he has zero feedback. He never sent me any more pics of the other pieces and said he would send me his driver's license for reference. Huh?

Life is too short for sketchy deals anymore. I'm still waiting for the arrival of a bop kit I bought in February! Ugh... please don't ask me about it. :(
