I think 30+yrs of dedication to the product resulted in his Sig snare, he (apparently) chose the badge as he is a huge fan of the Sig series. His touring kit is based on their specs, and hes toured that exact same kit all around the world for the last 6+yrs.
BTW/ the lugs on the Rudd snare are identical to the Delites and SClassix, and the drum has received worldwide acclaim.
Swap out the heads and they are awesome. We sat the Rudd snare side by side with Brass Delites (cast hoops) Brass SClassix's (cast and without). All drums were very similar with the cast hoops making obvious differences, and Rudd was let down by the dullness of the Asian Heads, but that tone was there.
If it had German Cast hoops and 'German Made' written on the badge
, I'd bet the difference would barely recognizable
. Other than the Chrome
