My chrome looks brand new and always has. Been doing it since the early eighties.

Abrasive, so is toothpaste, comet and brillo pads. To any degree that my teeth or bathtub are ever gonna care, no.
Sorry, but if I handed you a piece of chrome, there is no possible way you are going to tell me if 0000 was used on it or not.
