I think your snare collection has significant Sonor representation and the collection as a whole is a thing of beauty. Now if you started playing Premier... :lol:

Isn't that the way it is? Years ago Sonor decided not to state, upfront, that they were changing the veneers. Now they're stuck in a position of claiming they "did nothing wrong," and sending their cheaply bought mouthpiece out sweep the lie out of sight. A lie is the first mistake. Trying to hide the lie is the second mistake, and the one that never heals.

ps. How much more do we know for sure about Bob Dyan? :D

Thanks Roland.

I think if I were to have a Premier kit, it would be something obscure like a Resonator or a reissued Keith Moon. Like most of my snares, something different than the average bear.....

I dunno Gunnar. I sure ain't about to remove them though ha. From the look of the inside of these shells, I would have stayed far far away from them: "How could that possibly work?" My only other experience with re-rings were Delites and I hated those drums. I would of had these bagged for sounding like crap.

Don't know if it's true or not but vertical grain is supposed to mean "Made in Germany", the Chinese drums have horizontal grain but still say "Made in Germany" on the badges. I can only tell you first hand there is a significant difference in sound between the two. Vertical grain being the desired one.

re rings are awesome if they are done right, those old slingerlands with mahogany shells and maple rings are sick sounding drums
