This one is a kit I bought brand new, back in high school. My main kit for years.

Nice, Cliff! Wow this brings back memories. My first really good drum kit was a Rogers. Dayton tags, so made before CBS bought them. 20/12/16 in red onyx with a PowerTone snare. Sure wish I had them back. :c\

Mine too, Mike. I bought it in 74, but it was the old stuff. The perfectly horrid butcher block pattern, but it was the closest to real wood I could find in the drum store.

Sold it when I picked up the Phonic Plus mahogany kit in '84. Couldn't imagine what I'd do with the Rogers after that.

Hey Goki,

Sizes are:

• 20x14 kick
• 16x16 floor tom
• 12x8 rack tom
• Sonor 14x6 ½ snare

For that kit, I also have:

• Second 20x14 kick
• 13x9 rack tom
• 14x5 COB Dynasonic

This 4 piece set-up is the configuration I have used this kit in for the last 25 years or more.

That kit certainly set you up to go in the direction of finer things.
Very nice Cliff. Would like to see it with all the pieces.

If I ever do a 'photo session', I'll try to get a few shots of all the pieces together, but I never use that configuration anymore.

The whole reason behind having the second kick goes back to the days before double-kick pedals (or remote pedals, in my case), when that is how I got the kick and hat in position for me to play with just my left foot. At that point, the right kick was just a tom stand.

Love it Cliff! Very cool to hear that you have held onto it through the years.

Those aren't original hoops, are they? Whatever they are, they look great on the kit.

Hey Gunnar,

Good to see you here!

Greg,

The kick that came with the five piece 'Londoner' kit had black hoops with an inlay.

The second kick was also bought new from a Rogers dealer, about six months after the kit was bought. It had the two hoops that you see on it. When I used it as a double-kick kit, I used these two on the front, the black ones on the batter side of both.

I think these look better than the other hoops.
