Ouch. How did it get past me that Roberto Spizzichino had died, back in November? 11.22.11. There goes one from my bucket list (and I don't have many), to go to Italy and buy a set of his work.

I didn't know him, but the news is sad. An interesting, perhaps brilliant, and ardent man.

That's bad news. I saw some videos and thought, the guy looks sick, and it turned out he was.

He had a great concept - taking already made cymbals and re-hammering them to his "own vision"...

Hats off to a great guy... :ugeek:

Hey, Goki. I didn't know that he reworked existing cymbals; quite possibly he did, but he did make cymbals, I think from blanks.

He made amazing stuff, not much I could use without killing it, but really beautiful instruments.
i do like that there are a bunch of people who have been inspired to take on cymbalsmithing in the last few years, keeps things sounding interesting
