2 weeks ago, Marta and I managed to take a short 5 day trip to Italy...
It was orthodox Easter, so we had a couple of non-working days, plus I took some from my last year's vacation.
The trip was a total surprise to me - Marta was saving from the gigs we had, and she just said "take 2 days for Easter"... :D :D :D

The bus ride was intense to say at least (unfortunately, a plane tour wasn't an option, and a vacation in our arrangement would have been difficult to afford), and the weather was rainy and cloudy, but still - Italy was very beautiful.
We've managed to see Venice, Florence and Verona.

From all three cities, I must admit that Florence was by far the most beautiful.
But, I firmly believe that whole of Italy has something special to show...

I recommend Italy to all of you dear friends. Plus, it's almost in my neighborhood - so I'm sure you can pop down to Macedonia and be our guests... ;)

Enjoy...

Great photos, Goki. The bus must have been grueling; I made that same journey while on my way to Greece forty years ago, and what I remember best was in Albania, urinating on an electrified fence round midnight. Threw me to the ground.

Those are really great pictures.
Goki, glad to see you are getting in the fun time.
Just a random thought; have you ever considered moving out of your country?

Kelly,
I consider myself a "loyal patriot". I certainly wouldn't wanna leave the country, but would like to give all my time and effort for her benefit. After all - we've been in Macedonia for generations, for centuries. From both families (Marta and me) we have dozens of people who died (and not just on the battlefield) for a better tomorrow. It would be unfair to abandon that idea.

I just wish the rest of the people in this country start thinking the same - fact is (as I see it), they can't wait for some sort of an EU arrangement so they can get the hell out of here. Don't blame them - in the last 20 years - there's no bright future ahead...

I guess we'll see how the wind blows Kelly. I certainly won't allow some dumb idiots in Ferrari to mock my children just because they are better students.
The intellectual values here in Macedonia are totally twisted. Those who had a chance - stole, sold and scored big. The rest of us don't have a unity to stand up to that...

Looks like an awesome trip Goki! Italy is an amazing country that when I leave I instantly just want to be back. I'm lucky enough to travel there once a year for a plant buying trip for the Garden Centre I work for.

Thanks for the photos they all look great :)

I admire your patriotism and purpose Goki.
Still random....is it possible to do more for them if you did leave?

Great pics! I have never been to Italy, been really close, but never crossed the border.
A very nice vacay for Marta and yourself!
