Expressions are an eye into character, and as such are always interesting, part of what makes live performances so much more interesting than recorded. But I agree with you inasmuch as there is no "normal" expression one should have, whether extroverted, introverted, excited or calm. I hate watching myself on video, but that's probably the same thing as hearing your voice on recording: with few exceptions, nobody likes their own.
What is troubling about ol' Philly's fizz is the hangdog look of a guy who's self assessment has gone through the basement. Probably his conscience working on him, my guess. Bloody damn monkey!
