I remember having difficulty tuning the 20" bd. It sounded good only when stuffed. I never had that trouble with a 22", 24" or 18" bds.

I think Kelly is right though - if one gets a smaller bd, the depth should be greater for the bd to compensate. If you have a 20x18, or a 20x20, then you have a CANNON... ;)
