While the glue was drying on other stuff, I decided to put this together. Six ply Keller with 6 ply re-rings, 6.5 x14 finished with a prototype wrap from DrumArt that I've had sitting for almost a year... horrible pics

Amazing what some people can accomplish in their "spare" time. ;)

I couldn't do that if I was being tutored the whole way!! Looks terrific! How's it sound?

I would have guessed a masked then painted (tinted) veneer and not a wrap. Great way to spend your time, Dave.

Thanks guys! There are a few companies making wrap. I'm friends with Jim, the owner of DrumArt. They specialize in drum head artwork. He's ventured into the wraps a bit and this was one he prototyped for me. Heck of a lot easier than painting, but not quite as cool.

The 6 ply keller has a lot of body and is not as loud as what I'm used to. I put a "rounded apex" type of bearing edges on it. I had to copy this type of edge when I cut down a tom for a friend. Thought it was interesting and would be a bit warmer than the standard 45. I was right...

DrumArt has asked to display the drum in their booth at the Chicago drum show this year, so if anyone makes it they can check it out in person....

Thanks again....
