I crossed over to the forbidden land...sniff.
But I had to go stick up for one of our own.

Forbidden? No.

A self-imposed test of tolerance and discipline. Maybe.

Kidding aside, there are still a lot of people there that I like and respect, but I just don't have a good enough 'incoming bullshit filter' to go there.

You've misdiagnosed the problem. 'Incoming bullshit filter' is in fine working order.

It's the 'advanced bullshit report system' that creates the problem. It's the switch; it's either ON or OFF. :D

Yeah...I'm afraid you are all spot on.
I regretted it after the first response, "we all have our opinions on the subject".
Opinion? I couldn't spell it out any clearer that I was in on getting those toms made.
And provided pictures ;)
What made me smirk is more than a few of the biggest "experts" were way off.

Tim, don't make me dig up old pictures of a Signature Scandinavian kit. Or Signature Rosewoods :o

Jeff and I discussed it, and I still don't know why he's convinced it's ALPI. He can do his own confessing right here.

Just look at them, could NOT be any more Alpi unless it had their logo printed on 'em. Mid '90's manufacture only makes me more positive. They hadn't used real Ebony for close to 10yrs at that stage.
Sorry to offend, but I can't understand how you can't see it, Gregory.
The fact that it was finished in the Sonor factory is why it is finished in the exact same manner of any other Signature shell.
Which is why the color maybe closer to Sonordrugs 13 Siggy, but it looks way more like the 8 SClassix in every way other than a slight difference in shades.

My opening thread states "This looks a bit like Alpi to me" :| , my very next post states "The air vent is in the correct place for a Siggy, and I'm not saying that the drum isn't a Signature shell, Everything is there, but the veneer, well........."

I stand by my original comments, which I have NOT been edited in any way.

Sorry if I pissed you off, Kel, it definitely was NOT my intention.

Sorry guys, seems like I've put a kinda Museum flavor to this thread.
Go ahead, I'm ready for it. :|

I'm certainly not offended. But what are you saying? Mid 80s was the last use of ebony? :?

 Now I'm just making up new 'facts'. I don't know, thought it was around 88, but I'm aware it was well into the 90's.
Just let me sit in the corner, and if I bark, throw me a bone. I'll bite it. :?
