All five drums are here, but I can't mount the rack tom holder because of one little missing piece that's following in the mail. I've changed the heads, tuned 'em and set up what I can, and

HOLY SMOKES! is that one nice sounding bass drum. Not quite sure what I was expecting, but whatever it was, this far surpasses that. Lots of analytical response, but for right now: :D :D :o :D :D

Why do people choke these things? Removed two strips of heavy felt, one Aquarian Super Kick enormous sponge ring and if that didn't kill it, a huge rubbery beater patch on the center. That's abuse, is what that is, like forcing someone to stay in the same pair of underwear for three weeks... LET IT OUT! :?

pics soon :)

All depends on where the guy was using it.

Congrats Greg!
How did someone so anal and so ridiculously meticuous with making the deal, forget a piece.

That a person is meticulous about some things does not necessarily extend to all things. In the seller's case, the great mystery is precisely as you ask it. Asperger's?

People choke these things because their tuning smells like 3 week old underwear, and they give up and go for 'thud'. :?

I can see some damping if the drums is too big for the application, but that is about it.

What a slogan that would make - e.g. "That Great Gretsch Thud"

That's true. He may have been using it to sneak up on a deer. 8-) 8-) 8-)

Ouch, I like that thud for certain gigs, not for most though.

Greg what heads are you using? My P3 combo sounds like a deer rifle, perfect for when I need a funky kick drum but not much else.
