12x8, 13x9 (not mounted) 14x14, 16x16, 18x16 bass. 8 tom is from my other Designer kit. Photos don't do the veneer justice; the veneer is old style quilted bubinga, prettier than my old Signature kit. :D :D :D Sound is fantastic!

Thanks, Goki! I couldn't be happier. :) :) :) ... The kit has far more eye appeal than the photo, but that's standard where wood is concerned. :cry:

:lol: Friend of mine has a Delite 22v kick, he plays in a cover band, in venues with very ordinary acoustics. He puts a pillow inside his kick :o , and an Emad, and the other day he installed a KickPort :? .
Whilst he tuned the drum, and hooked up a pedal, I hooked (ish) a pedal upto his 22' ABS plastic Hardcase, and struck the case with the beater. :? :o
The Case had more body than the drum did :lol: .
Man, we made that kick sound huge, then he chucked a pillow in it, I understand that certain venues can make drums lend themselves to some form of dampening, but how can I run a 24 with nothing in her, (maybe a T-shirt if the engineer insists) and he needs half a Bedroom suite inside his drum :? , either that or empty the laundry basket into her :shock: :lol: .

The MAPEX company has it's full factory production in China. As far as SONOR is concerned ("sharing" shells), I heard the same thing. I don't know if the SONOR production line gets just the shells and assembles the drums by itself, or gets the whole product.

BUT, I think that the level of craftsmanship is a bit higher on the MAPEX line - since the shells were built to satisfy THEIR drum design...
That's why there's this continuous problem with Remo heads and Force x007 drums...

Once again - that's just my opinion...

I think Gretsch did the similar thing for their "off-shore" production. They hired a company that did everything for them...
