Latz, I think we're misunderstanding each other.
Custom drums are awesome, but I don't see what I would have made custom that I couldn't get already made. I mean there is nothing I want that is so different it would warrant a custom kit. For example this Signia kit works for me.
My SQ's were custom. It was a splurge and a treat for me after selling several Link kits. It was fun but I wouldn't do it again. A lot of money and waiting and waiting and waiting and returning pieces and waiting and waiting and waiting for something not so different that I couldn't of been satisfied with premade....I mentioned Designers, SClass Pros, SClassix...but see other companies too worthy of my money.

If I was to do another custom kit though, this guy would be doing it:

Nice looking, but isn't that a GB phone number? Shipping would be interesting.

Love that guys work. I got very very reasonable quotes from him.
In fact he was willing to make orphans for my Designer kit. Undersized shells, lug holes, vertical veneer match and all.

Yep, I think so. I thought you were looking for a different sound...

His stuff looks nice. Although there are a ton of custom builders doing the same thing. His advantage is it looks like he is making his own shells...

Kel,

These are pretty interesting and ought to hold their value for years to come!

I remember when those things began to show up. I know there are some fans, but I never understood it. I did hear a kit live, and though I have no idea when in my late teens or early twenties that was, I do remember expecting something rather more intriguing than what actually came out of them.

I think I actually got a lil sick in the belly when I opened the pic. Couldn't figure out what they were trying to be, drums or a weird trombone setup.
