Gary,

I presume that you have seen this.

Worth grabbing to use while you keep looking?

Cliff i have seen it but it's in Sweeden so shipping would make it a little higher than i want to go on a drum i would ultimatly replace with a rosewood one. I would try veneering a bass that i could get cheaper but it would have to be at a pretty good price.

Gregory, i was getting into jazz at the time (am currently studying with a guy out of cleveland) and i really wanted something smaller to throw in my car. I have an suv now so the space isn't a problem but i still love the look, sound and feel of my 18. Mine is on a riser since it is a floor tom and i don't want to relocate the prizm mounts but the instuctor i'm with uses a standard 18 and it feels real good under my foot. I'll try to post some pics of my current setup.

Gary.

Hey Gary,

If you look around, you are going to find quite a few 18" kick drum guys here. ;)

They have been the subject of a lot of discussion.

My theory is that an 18" kick will find you, when the time is right.

I have never really played anything larger than a 20", but a good 18" is some thing special.

I have 18's for my Designer kits, and for my Signature kit, and don't often use the 20's.

I wish I could find/make one for my old Rogers kit, too. :(
