Their news for the 400 hardware series are excellent!!!
I will be ordering a new 400 series snare stand for sure...
The reissue idea is also great, but somehow I think those snares would be pricey... PLUS, the have the plastic throw off, instead of that beautiful all metal throw off from the Phonic series...
They could have put the new "dual thingy". I don't see the harm in that, plus it would have looked even better.
The Signature snare is great, apart from one "small" detail. If I remember correctly, the sole purpose of the Ascent and other Chinese series lugs, was to differ them from the German lines. That's how they were advertised from SONOR themselves. This should suggest that, like the Phil Rudd Signature, the Mikkey Dee is also crafted in China. The price will tell, I guess...
Two things I didn't understand:
1) Are they definitely "ditching" the S Classix?!?
2) The PROLITE is obviously a Delite. Will they offer birch/beech/maple, or all apart from vintage maple falls into the SQ2?!?
I'm a bit confused - I think that every drum company should have a birch drum set. Unless they're definitely making way for the Chinese products (which is good, but cuts out people with money who don't want an SQ2).
In my eyes - a wrapped S Classix was THE PERFECT gigging kit. Light, with brighter projection, and "scar-proof"
