Safe crossing, Goki & Marta.

I'd be there if I could afford an extra peanut from our as yet inadequate budget... but it is just not possible, I fear. O, the good time that will be! :) :) :)

OK - a few days here and time to post some impressions.... :)

NYC, as a town, is fantastic. Easy to move around, if You're on foot, and plenty to see.
As far as the crowd goes - man, it's waaaaay to much for my taste. Marta enjoys it a lot, I enjoy the Central Park... :D

We visited the Metropolitan - that was a feast for my eyes. We plan on visiting MOMA, too...
We also went on 5th and 7th Ave, Broadway, Times Sq, Chinatown, Little Italy and Soho. Today, my plan is to go to the WTC, and give a moment of respect for those who perished there on 9/11.

Later, if we have the strength, MOMA and Steve Maxwell drum shop... :)

As far as music goes - I went to Sam Ash. They had a log of great stuff. Too bad I'm not in the mood of buying something big (like a snare or something), otherwise I was very tempted.

I'd also like to have a chance to find a shop for used cymbals. If anyone has an idea, let me know...

Otherwise, sticks and heads - these are going back to Skopje for sure... :)

Cheers fellas...

Great, and welcome to the USA, Goki. I am really interested to hear your step by step impressions, so keep posting whenever you have time, with pics! :D :D :D

Some people really get a kick out of New York; others, like you and I, find it entertaining for what it has to offer but are happier in more serene environments. Let's see: it's Saturday and the weather should be good: check out Central Park to see how absolutely insane it can be! New Yorkers have very strange ideas about what the outdoors is for. Andy Warhol, I remember, said it was just a place to park his car.

I wish you could come out here, but I know that's not possible. If I were able, I'd be in Austin in a heartbeat with you and Cliff and Marta and Terri.

Hey Goki,

Thanks for the image of you trying to clear customs with that 36 piece Tama kit.

"er, um, just something that I usually travel with..." :?

Glad you are having some fun. Steve Maxwell's has a pretty good inventory of used cymbals of all kinds.

Is there anyting particular that you are looking for?
